Anna Schwarz
I'm a cookery teacher and chef with a love of food and 20 years’ experience. I believe that cooking and eating with others are satisfying, creative and bring people together.
I really enjoy showing people that anyone - not just chefs - can make and enjoy delicious food.
I have a background in catering and teaching, and since 2003 I have brought the two together to work as a community cookery teacher. Hundreds of people have come to my courses and gratifyingly said things like “I didn’t know it could be so easy,” and “I didn’t know I liked cooking”.
With experience and qualifications in patisserie, vegan cookery, teaching adults and teaching English as an additional language, I have created and taught cookery courses for a wide variety of groups and individuals. These include courses for people with learning disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers, families and people who would like to eat more healthily.
A founder member of Migrant English Project and The World Food Project I co-authored a series of cookery books of international recipes.
I also play wind instruments from recorders to bagpipes for raucous ceilidhs and sedate Regency dances.
