Teaching

I've been teaching people to cook since 2003 and am now in a position to offer bespoke cookery classes for groups or individuals.

I am a qualified teacher with TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) and  PTTLLs (Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector) qualifications. I am a founder member of The World Food Project where I ran a series of cookery and conversation classes for people from all over the world. Since 2006 I have been Cookery Development Worker at  Brighton and Hove Food Partnership.

I have planned, recruited and taught cookery courses for adults, families, children, trainee community cooks, refugees, people with learning disabilities, people suffering with anxiety and depression - and many other groups as well.

I have provided training to Brighton and Hove City Council staff on cooking with children in nurseries and to support staff on cooking healthy food with people with learning disabilities.

I have public liability insurance which covers my cookery teaching work, a level 2 food safety certificate and a recent DBS check.

I can offer half or full day courses in all sorts of venues on all sorts of themes

Some of the classes I can offer are below - however the possibilities are endless, so if you would like some more cooking in your life or work then do get in touch to discuss how we can work together.

"Thank you so much for running that fabulous workshop as part of our staff Wellbeing at Work evening.  I’ve had great feedback from all those involved.  It was brilliant the ease with which you took 20 of our staff through a huge range of healthy and tasty recipes.  The fact that you sent us all away with a box of snacks was very popular and generated much envy in our feedback session."

"Anna delivered a series of cookery classes for some of my clients. I work with people who experience financial problems due to physical and mental health issues. Some clients have disabilities and/or additional needs. Anna's professional approach and welcoming personality made the projects very successful and also very enjoyable for those clients who participated. Anna interpersonal skills are excellent and she can make a relatively complicated dish so much fun! My clients loved the experience and came out from working along with Anna much more confident and with many tips on how to cook healthy meals on a limited budget."
